Gua musang: A man suffered a broken leg while four others sustained minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision near Damai Kuari on the Kuala Krai-Gua Musang Road today. Gua Musang Fire and Rescue Station chief Muhammad Azrul Izzham Zulkifli reported that the accident involved a Perodua Ativa, a Toyota Vios, and a Perodua Alza.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the driver of the Toyota Vios suffered a broken leg, while the driver of the Perodua Ativa and three men traveling in the Perodua Alza sustained minor injuries. All the victims had been extricated by members of the public before firefighters arrived at the scene at 12.44 pm.
The victims, aged between their 20s and 30s, were taken to Gua Musang Hospital for treatment. Firefighters also cleared accident debris to ensure the road was safe for motorists.
Meanwhile, Gua Musang district police chief Supt Sik Choon Foo stated that initial investigations suggest the accident occurred when the driver of a Perodua Alza, traveling from Gua Musang to Kuala Krai, overtook a vehicle before entering the opposite lane and colliding with a Toyota Vios. Following the collision, a Perodua Ativa traveling behind the Toyota Vios was unable to avoid the crash and rammed into the vehicle.
The injured victims were taken to the Emergency Unit of Gua Musang Hospital for further treatment. The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving causing serious injuries. Further investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the incident.
