FIREMEN RESCUE FOUR INDIVIDUALS TRAPPED WHILE FISHING IN SITIAWAN

IPOH: A fire brigade team successfully rescued four individuals who became trapped in swift water while fishing under the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Bridge in Sitiawan early this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director, Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, reported that his team received information regarding the incident at 1:13 a.m. The trapped individuals included two men and two women who were fishing under the bridge when the water level began to rise swiftly.

Upon their arrival, rescue teams found the water level knee-high and rapidly rising. The operations chief and his team from the Sitiawan Fire and Rescue Station promptly deployed a boat from a nearby jetty to carry out the rescue operation.

The rescued individuals were subsequently handed over to the police for further action, according to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad.
