Fire Engulfs 13 Houses in Tanjung Dawai, Man Suffers Burns

TANJUNG DAWAI: A man in his 30s suffered burns on his legs and hands after a fire swept through 13 houses in Kampung Keda Tanjung Dawai, Bedong, earlier today. The blaze prompted a swift response from local fire departments and volunteer brigades who worked together to control the situation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Kedah Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 7:28 a.m., with the first fire engine arriving on the scene at 7:53 a.m. Senior Fire Superintendent I, Azhar Mohamad, confirmed that 25 firefighters from the Yan Fire and Rescue Station were deployed, along with teams from Guar Cempedak and Sungai Petani, as well as nearby volunteer fire brigades.

Upon their arrival, it was confirmed that 13 houses were involved in the fire. The injured man was promptly taken to the hospital by medical personnel. The fire was declared under control by 8:12 a.m., and a fire command post was established at Tanjung Dawai to manage the ongoing situation and provide support to those affected.
