Kuala Lumpur: The Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has made final preparations before the special parliamentary session on the impact of the United States retaliatory tariffs on Malaysia. Its Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, stated that MITI had gathered input from various ministries and relevant parties, as well as collected views from members of parliament from the MADANI Government Backbenchers Club.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the session aims to conduct a post-mortem on the impact of the US tariffs and discuss Malaysia’s response. Tengku Zafrul shared on his social media page that the focus of the special parliamentary session, scheduled for tomorrow at the Dewan Rakyat, will be on these tariffs.
The special session, which will start at 11 am, will be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The meeting is expected to address critical issues and formulate strategies to mitigate the effects of the tariffs on Malaysia’s economy.
