FGV 2025 Festival To Empower Felda Settlers On Global Stage

Kuala lumpur: Festival FGV 2025, held in conjunction with the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) Settlers’ Day celebration, serves as a platform to empower and showcase the potential of the settler community at the global level. Felda chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek said the inaugural festival demonstrated the strong cooperation between Felda and FGV Holdings Berhad (FGV), which could pave the way forward for both entities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Shabery expressed confidence that with the combined strengths of Felda and FGV, they will make significant strides globally. He made these remarks to reporters after launching Festival FGV 2025, an event also attended by FGV chairman Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa and FGV group chief executive officer Fakhrunniam Othman. The five-day festival, which began yesterday, is part of the Mega 3D Carnival (MK3D) and is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development, the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives, and Felda.

Fakhrunniam stated that FGV’s involvement in MK3D underscores the company’s commitment to empowering Felda settlers, supporting rural development, and promoting Malaysia’s palm oil industry. He highlighted that Festival FGV 2025 gathers the efforts and contributions of settlers and smallholders, who provide over 70 percent of the fresh fruit bunches to FGV’s mills. The event serves as a platform to appreciate these contributions and to showcase FGV’s role in the national palm oil industry.

FGV also launched FGV Edugames, the world’s first mobile game app based on sustainable agricommodities, during the festival. The app, focusing on palm agriculture and ESG impact, includes titles like Weevil Hero, Ladang Defence, and Waste to Wealth, which introduce sustainability, biodiversity, and circular economy concepts. These games are available on the App Store and Google Play.

Festival FGV 2025 features a range of activities, including exhibitions on innovations and modern technologies in the agrocommodity sector, showcasing FGV’s initiatives in automation, digitalization, and renewable energy. The festival also offers entertainment and engagement for all societal segments, with performances by artists, ‘Sembang Kuali’ sessions with social media influencers, and cooking demonstrations with celebrity chefs.

Visitors have the opportunity to win prizes worth over RM100,000 through lucky draws and special promotions during the festival. Grand prizes include electric scooters, home appliances, and exclusive FGV store merchandise.
