Felda Youth Key To Nation’s Future Success, Says Ahmad Shabery

Kuala lumpur: The younger generation of the Federal Land Development Authority (Felda) should not be seen merely as ‘settlers’ children’ but as future leaders capable of contributing meaningfully to the nation, said Felda Chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek. He stated that many Felda youths have already gained international recognition.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Shabery emphasized the potential of Felda youth during the Felda Settlers’ Appreciation Ceremony held in conjunction with the Mega 3D Carnival 2025. The event was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, with other notable attendees including Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang and FGV Holdings Bhd (FGV) Chairman Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa.

Ahmad Shabery highlighted the achievements of Felda students from the Ulul Albab Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) in Felda Trolak, who recently secured the Golden Diploma Award at the 2025 International Wind Orchestra Festival in Prague, Czech Republic. The MARESMAF Wind Orchestra (MAWO) team outperformed seven orchestras from six countries, indicating Felda’s significant role in the nation’s future.

He pointed out the special attention given to MRSM Trolak, attributing it to being a Felda MRSM where students excel in the Ulul Albab discipline, including memorizing the Qur’an, while achieving international success in Prague.

Ahmad Shabery also acknowledged the Government’s continuous support, particularly praising Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, for his commitment to Felda. He noted that Ahmad Zahid frequently assesses Felda’s challenges and extends necessary assistance through his ministry.
