Kota Bharu:Almost all development and infrastructure project applications submitted by the Kelantan state government have been approved by the Federal Government, according to Menteri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the approvals were the result of discussions and close cooperation between federal and state government agencies in identifying and resolving development issues in the region.
Among the approved projects are the 400-metre extension of the runway at Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Pengkalan Chepa and the extension of the East Coast Rail Link from Kota Bharu to Rantau Panjang. Mohd Nassuruddin emphasized that comprehensive infrastructure development is crucial for attracting investment, opening industrial areas, and creating job opportunities.
The application to extend the ECRL route to Rantau Panjang, bordering southern Thailand, received positive feedback following Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's announcement of federal agreement to the proposal. Mohd Nassuruddin expressed gratitude for the approvals, noting that the projects, once completed, would significantly enhance job creation.
