FCoEE’s PPITM Empowers Asnaf Children To Be More Competitive, Self-reliant

Kangar: Since its introduction in 2023, the Pemangkin Pembangunan Insan Terpilih MADANI (PPITM) programme, organised by the Faizuddin Centre of Educational Excellence (FCoEE), has served as a platform for shaping the character and identity of asnaf (those eligible to receive zakat or tithe) children, empowering them to become more competitive and self-reliant.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, FCoEE executive director Prof Emeritus Datuk Dr Kamarudin Hussin stated that the programme aims to assist students from asnaf families in Perlis in transitioning from being zakat recipients to future zakat contributors. He emphasized the opportunity PPITM provides for FCoEE and all involved parties to engage with selected families, gaining insights into their challenges. FCoEE’s role in supporting MAIPs (Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council) is crucial in enhancing the community’s quality of life through education.

During the PPITM 2025 contribution presentation, Kamarudin reiterated the programme’s mission to inspire underprivileged children, encouraging them to view poverty not as a barrier but as a stepping stone to success. He highlighted the importance of the belief that education and the pursuit of success are responsibilities that should be accessible to all.

A total of 43 primary and secondary school students from 42 schools in Perlis participating in the programme received contributions under PPITM. The event also featured the presentation of the Anugerah Ikon PPITM to two outstanding students, acknowledging their achievements and commitment to overcoming challenges.

Kamarudin stressed that FCoEE is dedicated to supporting this initiative, believing that success is a collective effort involving dedicated teachers, supportive parents who make sacrifices, and a caring community.
