FBM KLCI Futures Show Gains in Early Trading Session

KUALA LUMPUR: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures market experienced an upward trend during early trading today, indicating a positive start to the trading session on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the December 2024 futures contract increased by 4.5 points, reaching 1,629.0. The January 2025 contract saw a rise of 7.0 points to 1,633.0. Both March 2025 and June 2025 contracts advanced by 3.5 points each, standing at 1,614.0 and 1,621.0, respectively. The turnover was recorded at 2,355 lots, while open interest totaled 62,188 contracts.

As of 9.34 am, the benchmark FBM KLCI index climbed by 1.93 points to 1,630.07, compared to the previous closing of 1,628.14 on Friday. This rise in the futures market reflects a positive sentiment among investors as trading commenced for the day.
