FBM KLCI Futures Experience Mixed Performance with Predominantly Lower Close

Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended mostly lower today, mirroring the performance of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the spot-month August 2025 saw a slight increase of 0.5 of a point, closing at 1,593.5. However, the September 2025 contract eased by 0.5 of a point to finish at 1,572.0, while the December 2025 contract fell by 3.0 points to settle at 1,568.0. The March 2026 contract also saw a decline, slipping 1.0 point to end at 1,553.50.

Turnover for the futures market increased to 5,839 lots compared to Tuesday’s 5,598 lots, with open interest rising to 44,596 contracts from the previous 43,803 contracts. In the cash market, the FBM KLCI index dipped by 2.03 points, or 0.13 percent, closing at 1,588.21, down from Tuesday’s close of 1,590.24.
