Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower on Monday. At the close, January 2025, March 2025, and June 2025 futures slid 4.5 points to 1,562.5, 1,548.0, and 1,557.0, respectively. February 2025 futures saw a decline of 4.0 points to settle at 1,566.0.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the turnover decreased to 9,319 lots from 10,768 lots recorded last Friday, indicating reduced trading activity. Meanwhile, open interest narrowed to 43,194 contracts compared to the previous 44,886 contracts, reflecting a decrease in the number of outstanding contracts.
Despite the decline in futures, the FBM KLCI itself saw an increase. At 5 pm, the index gained 5.62 points to reach 1,572.34, compared to Friday’s close of 1,566.72.
