Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives managed to close slightly higher, in contrast to the declining cash market performance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the futures for May 2025 saw an increase of 1.5 points, reaching 1,535.00. June 2025 futures rose by 2.5 points to 1,534.00, September 2025 gained 1.0 point to settle at 1,516.50, and December 2025 futures added 1.5 points, closing at 1,527.50.
The report also highlighted a reduction in turnover, which fell to 5,618 lots from the previous 6,132 lots recorded on Friday, while open interest decreased to 38,851 contracts from the earlier 39,482.
At the 5 pm close, the FBM KLCI itself experienced a decline of 0.19 percent, or 2.95 points, falling to 1,539.54 compared to last Friday’s closing figure of 1,542.49.
