Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives posted a decline on Thursday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the January 2025, February 2025, and March 2025 contracts each decreased by 10.5 points, closing at 1,571.0, 1,574.5, and 1,556.5, respectively. The June 2025 contract also fell by 10.0 points, ending at 1,565.0.
The market experienced an increase in turnover, rising to 11,416 lots compared to 8,264 lots the previous day. Open interest also expanded, reaching 49,011 contracts from the prior 44,763.
As of 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index itself decreased by 10.60 points, or 0.66 percent, landing at 1,577.20, down from the previous day’s close of 1,587.80.
