FBM KLCI Futures Close Lower in Tandem with Cash Market

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended lower today, reflecting the trends observed in the underlying cash market. April 2025 futures declined by 10.5 points to settle at 1,514.5. In tandem, the May 2025 futures contract fell by 10.0 points, closing at 1,513.0. The June 2025 futures saw a decrease of 9.5 points, ending at 1,507.0, while the September 2025 futures slipped by 12.0 points to 1,494.0.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the market also witnessed a decrease in turnover, with 8,016 lots traded compared to 9,875 lots on Wednesday. Open interest similarly declined, with contracts reducing to 45,226 from the previous day’s 47,782 contracts. At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI index itself slid by 7.61 points, reaching 1,518.91, compared to Wednesday’s close of 1,526.52.
