Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended the day on a positive note, mirroring the performance of the underlying cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the futures contract for June 2025 increased by 12.5 points to settle at 1,508.5. The July 2025 futures saw a rise of 12.0 points, closing at 1,506.0. September 2025 futures climbed 11.0 points to finish at 1,486.0, while December 2025 futures closed 10.0 points higher at 1,490.0.
Turnover saw a notable expansion, reaching 17,020 lots compared to 7,082 lots recorded on Friday. Open interest also showed a significant jump, increasing to 55,359 contracts from the previous 44,764 contracts.
At the 5 pm close, the FBM KLCI itself rose by 0.92 percent, translating to a gain of 13.87 points, reaching 1,516.61 from Friday’s closing figure of 1,502.74.
