Kuala lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, aligning with the positive performance observed in the cash market.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the futures market saw significant gains across several contracts. The December 2025 contract rose 17 points to 1,629.0, the January 2026 contract increased by 16.5 points to 1,632.0, the March 2026 contract surged 17.5 points to 1,615.5, and the June 2026 contract climbed 13.5 points to 1,618.0.
Turnover for the futures market increased to 7,790 lots compared to 5,805 lots on Wednesday. Open interest also saw a rise, reaching 43,756 contracts against the previous 42,312 contracts.
At the close of trading at 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself gained 14.39 points, or 0.89 percent, closing at 1,625.39, up from Wednesday’s close of 1,611.00.
