FBM KLCI Futures Close Firmer on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives

Kuala Lumpur: The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended firmer on Thursday, reflecting the strong performance of the underlying cash market.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, at the close, the April 2025 contract rose by 56.5 points to 1,462.0. The May 2025 contract added 58.0 points to reach 1,460.0, the June 2025 contract advanced 56.0 points to 1,456.0, and the September 2025 contract increased by 54.0 points to 1,442.5.

Turnover saw a decline, falling to 13,840 lots from 18,036 lots in the previous session. Open interest also decreased, shrinking to 50,029 contracts compared to 54,219 contracts previously.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI itself rose significantly by 62.54 points, marking a 4.47 percent increase to 1,463.13, up from Wednesday’s close of 1,400.59.
