Fatal School Stabbing: Mother Says Daughter Was Athletic, Disciplined

Petaling jaya: The mother of the form four student who was fatally stabbed at a secondary school in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday described her youngest daughter as a quiet person who was active in sports and highly disciplined. Wong Lee Ping said before the tragic incident, her daughter had won second place in a badminton tournament held in the capital.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Wong Lee Ping shared that her daughter was disciplined and active in sports despite being an introvert. She was good at planning her schedule and managing the programmes she needed to attend. Wong emphasized that her daughter respected her parents and others, highlighting her considerate nature during a press conference at the Nirvana Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching was also present at the press conference.

On Tuesday, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail confirmed that a 16-year-old female student was fatally stabbed by a 14-year-old male student on the school grounds at about 9.30 am. The female student was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wong appealed to the public not to spread false information on social media regarding the case and expressed hope that no similar tragedy would occur at any school in the future. She also advised the public not to alter or misuse the QR code donation poster that had been shared, adding that those who wish to contribute may do so at the Nirvana Centre.

The victim’s remains are expected to be laid to rest on Monday (Oct 20).
