Semenyih: The government will expedite the approval of projects that comply with all stipulated rules and procedures to support national economic growth and strengthen investor confidence. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said unnecessary delays in the approval process must be avoided, as they could undermine Malaysia's development momentum and economic growth.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Anwar emphasized that if regulations and procedures are adhered to, projects should be approved within the stipulated timeframe to avoid any stalling of growth. Speaking at the launch of the Semenyih public infrastructure development, Anwar, who also serves as the Finance Minister, highlighted the importance of efficient governance and swift approvals in ensuring timely implementation of development projects, which directly benefit public well-being.
Anwar stated that the approach would facilitate Malaysians in enjoying the benefits of development and an improved quality of life through quicker project executions. He stressed the importance of not delaying even small-scale projects, as these have a direct impact on public comfort and well-being.
Anwar pointed out that small projects like minor roads or the construction of suraus should not be overlooked and should be completed promptly. He also noted Malaysia's current economic performance, citing strong regional growth, a strengthening ringgit, and the highest investment figures in the nation's history as positive indicators.
The Prime Minister acknowledged some existing weaknesses and challenges but expressed the government's commitment to a positive, collective approach to addressing these issues. He mentioned the significant reduction in poverty levels and the MADANI Government's determination to resolve hardcore poverty.
Anwar reiterated Malaysia's potential, supported by economic strength, human capital capabilities, employment levels, and workforce performance, to elevate its standing as a leading nation in Asia. He stressed the importance of a strong economy for job creation and preventing rising unemployment, and highlighted the role of workers, traders, and entrepreneurs in driving the country's economic success.
The Prime Minister also underscored the necessity of close cooperation between the government and the private sector as a key engine of economic growth, while ensuring that all Malaysians, regardless of race or belief, benefit from the nation's development.
