Perak: The Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) is targeting sales worth RM3 million during the FAMA Fest 2025@Perak event from May 29 to June 2 at the Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) here. Its Perak director, Azleena Zainal Abidin, stated that the festival, one of the largest agro-food events in Perak, aims to attract 150,000 visitors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this marks the seventh edition of FAMA Fest, with last year’s festival achieving a sales value of RM2.67 million and an attendance of approximately 120,000 visitors. Azleena emphasized the potential to meet this year’s sales target through promotions and special offers on food products, agriculture, and business matching.
This year’s festival will see collaboration among various entities including the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN), State Agriculture Department, State Fisheries Department, State Department of Veterinary Services, Farmers’ Organisation Authority (LPP), and Perak Agricultural Development Corporation (Perak SADC). The event is set to be officiated by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad on June 1, featuring 120 participating entrepreneurs from the state.
Azleena highlighted the festival’s main attractions, which include 400 types of food such as Rendang Tok Mak Nik, Miker Pizza, Laksa Buyong, Nasi Kambing Perap, and Roti John Cheese. In collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the event will also feature Agro MADANI Sales and Rahmah Sales, offering discounts of up to 30 percent on selected products.
Additionally, FAMA will promote the sale of local fresh produce including MD2 pineapples, corn, golden melons, strawberries, Chokanan mangoes, pomelos, and starfruit. Azleena added that the festival not only presents income opportunities for entrepreneurs but also aims to strengthen relationships between entrepreneurs, visitors, and involved agencies.
