Kuala Lumpur:Perak Six people narrowly avoided injury after a tree fell and struck two vehicles on Jalan Simpang Pulai-Lahat, Station 18.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Perak Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department received a report of the incident at 4.26 pm. In response, seven personnel from the Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue Station were dispatched to the location.
The tree had hit a Perodua Bezza and an Alza. Fortunately, all the occupants were helped out of the vehicles by bystanders before the fire brigade arrived, and no injuries were reported.
Fire operations commander Zaimeer Zulkifli mentioned that the task of cutting and removing the large tree was ongoing and expected to take about two hours. The incident was thought to have been caused by heavy rain and strong winds in the area.
The vehicles were moved to the road shoulder with the help of a towing service, while firefighters continued efforts to clear the route.
