Bukit aman: Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) deputy director (Intelligence/Operations) DCP Datuk Fadil Marsus has been appointed as the department’s acting director, effective tomorrow. He replaces Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, who has been transferred to the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS), effective the same date.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the handover-of-duties ceremony was held at the Theatrette Hall in Bukit Aman, witnessed by Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail. In his speech, Mohd Khalid said Mohd Shuhaily’s appointment was a mark of honour for the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), as he had been entrusted to lead another crucial agency responsible for safeguarding the nation’s security.
Mohd Khalid emphasized that this new role carries a significant trust and that PDRM will extend its full support to ensure these duties are carried out effectively and with integrity. Meanwhile, Mohd Shuhaily, in his speech, expressed his gratitude to all PDRM personnel, especially the CID team, for their support and encouragement during his one year and 11 months as the department’s director.
Mohd Shuhaily remarked that this transition is not a goodbye but the beginning of a new chapter in his career. He highlighted the synergy between PDRM and AKPS as the driving force behind the government’s efforts to strengthen border control and ensure its success.
