KUALA LUMPUR: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has issued a stern reminder to school principals, headmasters, and administrative staff to refrain from concealing incidents of bullying among students. She emphasized that all complaints from parents, students, and schools will be addressed with utmost seriousness.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina stressed the importance of reporting bullying cases to the Education Ministry’s Aduan Buli portal to ensure a fair investigation and resolution in line with established guidelines. “I would like to remind all school parties not to hide bullying cases. Solve it according to the guidelines provided,” she stated during a press conference.
Fadhlina’s remarks came in response to a recent report of a bullying incident at a boarding school. She urged school administrations not to challenge parents who raise concerns about bullying, asserting that it is within parents’ rights to seek justice if they believe their children have not been treated fairly.
“Why should they (principals) question it? It is the parents’ right if they think their children are not getting justice from the investigation and complaints made,” Fadhlina remarked. She added that parents have the option to escalate their complaints to higher authorities and the Education Ministry. “We will not compromise and we take any complaints seriously from parents, schools and the child (victim) themselves,” she affirmed.
