Fadhlina Calls for Swift Action in Johor Bullying Case

Johor: Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has called for an expedited investigation into a bullying incident involving a student in Johor, urging for appropriate measures to be taken against those involved.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina expressed her serious concern over the incident, stating that there will be no tolerance for bullying in any educational institution under the ministry’s jurisdiction. She emphasized the need for the situation to be resolved fairly and transparently, following established guidelines.

The case came to light when the mother of a 10-year-old boy, diagnosed with nasal cancer, reported that her son suffered a concussion due to bullying at a religious school last February. The mother voiced her disappointment over the lack of action against the alleged bully, a 12-year-old student, citing his age as the reason for inaction.

Fadhlina confirmed that representatives from the Johor Education Department have visited the victim, who is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
