FA Cup Semifinal First Legs: Selangor and Kuching City Secure Strong Leads

Paroi: Five-time FA Cup champions Selangor FC managed to score a comfortable lead ahead of their second semifinal leg when they beat Negeri Sembilan FC (NSFC) 4-0 in the first semifinal leg match at Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi tonight.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, team captain Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim scored Selangor’s first and only goal of the first half in the 34th minute, while import player Chrigor Flores Moraes tucked in a loose ball in the first minute of the second half to make it 2-0. This was followed by a header by Zach Paul John Clough in the 56th minute, and the final goal, Mohamad Faisal’s second of the match, came in the 63rd minute.

Meanwhile, Kuching City FC also had a successful match tonight, beating Terengganu FC (TFC) 4-1 at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Kuala Nerus. Striker Wanja Ronald Ngah was the standout performer, scoring a brace in the first half, the first in the ninth minute followed by a penalty in the 12th to put the visitors firmly in front.

rs then increased the pressure when they scored their third goal in the 53rd minute through Ahmad Danial Ahmad Asri. TFC managed to reply with a penalty by Yan Mabella in the 67th, only to allow Kuching City to end the match with a goal by Petrus Shitembi in the 82nd minute.

Selangor will play NSFC at Petaling Jaya City Stadium, while Kuching City will host TFC at home for the second leg of the semifinals on October 29.
