Kuala lumpur: Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) are facing an injury and suspension crisis ahead of the FA Cup final against Sabah FC, but head coach Xisco Munoz is not overly perturbed. He believes the Southern Tigers squad depth and clear identity will be enough to defend their FA Cup title.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JDT is currently without suspended trio Hector Hevel, Joao Figueiredo, and Jon Irazabal, while their injury list includes Arif Aiman Mohd Hanapi, Bergson da Silva, Romel Morales, and Juan Muniz. Despite these setbacks, Munoz remains confident in his team's ability to perform. He emphasized the importance of squad depth and maintaining their style of play, stating that the team has continued to win matches despite losing nearly 50 percent of their key players.
Munoz also acknowledged the formidable form of Sabah FC, especially after their impressive semi-final victory over Selangor. He stressed the need for JDT to deliver their best performance and start the game strongly. JDT captain Natxo Insa echoed Munoz's confidence, expressing positivity despite the challenges. He believes the available players can rise to the occasion and demonstrate that the team can deliver at the highest level, regardless of who plays.
