Kuala Lumpur: Ex-TV3 journalist and producer Nas Ahmad, also known as Md Nasir Ahmad, passed away at the Sungai Buloh Hospital today at the age of 63.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, his daughter-in-law, Farhana Nazlin Mohamad, shared that Nas, well-known for his role in TV3’s entertainment program Melodi, died at 9.49 am. Farhana recounted that Nas experienced breathing difficulties and a lack of oxygen around midnight, prompting them to call for an ambulance. Despite being transported to the hospital, they received a call in the morning notifying them of his passing.
Farhana noted that Nas had been battling a heart ailment for several years. He was hospitalized for over three weeks the previous month before being released last week. Arrangements have been made for Nas’ remains to be taken to Surau As-Sahabah in Section 7, Kota Damansara, for funeral proceedings. He will be laid to rest at the Section 9 Muslim Cemetery in Kota Damansara before the Asar prayer.
Nas is survived by his wife, Norhayati Ahmad, three children, and two grandchildren. In recognition of his contributions, Nas was a recipient of the Tabung Kasih@HAWANA fund and had received a personal donation from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in March.
