Kuala Lumpur: Former Lembaga Tabung Haji group managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), Datuk Nik Mohd Hasyudeen Yusoff, has been appointed as a board member of the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) for a term of two years, effective January 15, 2025.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the appointment was made by the Minister of Finance. The SC’s board is tasked with overseeing the governance of the SC and ensuring the execution of its regulatory and developmental responsibilities, as stated in a recent announcement by the SC.
SC chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi expressed support for Nik Hasyudeen’s appointment, citing his extensive experience of over 30 years in industry, regulatory, and international spheres as valuable assets that will enhance the effectiveness of the SC’s board in fulfilling its dual responsibilities.
Currently, Nik Hasyudeen is a board member of the Perdana Fellow Programme, Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd, and Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd. His past roles include serving as the executive director responsible for market and corporate supervision at the SC and as the executive chairman of the Audit Oversight Board.
