SEPANG: Eraman, the duty-free and retail brand of Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, is striving to increase the presence of local brands in its retail and food and beverages space at airports to 10 per cent, up from the current six per cent.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Malaysia Airports (Niaga) general manager Md Fadzwin Abdul Rahim emphasized Eraman’s goal to support local brands and provide them with a platform to gain visibility among international customers. He mentioned that Eraman hosts approximately 550 brands ranging from international to local across all categories at the airports where it operates. This announcement was made during the official launch of the revamped Eraman Duty Free Mall at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1.

He stated that Eraman seeks to exceed travellers’ expectations by offering an exclusive shopping experience at KLIA, emphasizing the mission to bring prestigious global brands closer to travellers. Additionally, he mentioned plans to introduce RFID technology in stores to enhance the retail experience, complementing the self-checkout kiosks already available at most duty-free outlets.
