Kuala lumpur: EPIC Berhad aims to attract 5,000 participants, including its employees and those from external organisations, to National Training Week (NTW) 2026 as part of its efforts to foster a culture of lifelong learning and talent development.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, its group chief executive officer Dr Muhtar Suhaili stated that the programme, now in its second year, is being implemented in strategic collaboration with the Terengganu Ministry of Human Resources (KESUMA) and the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) through the EPIC Ignite: Empowering Skills, Inspiring Excellence initiative. The programme includes 25 training sessions organized for NTW 2026, involving approximately 1,700 EPIC employees, and is also open to participants from external agencies.

Dr Muhtar highlighted that the main objective of the programme is to promote a culture of lifelong learning, enhance skills through upskilling, reskill the workforce, and equip participants with new skills to remain prepared for technological changes, such as artificial intelligence (AI). He shared these insights with reporters after officiating the NTW 2026 at the EPIC Berhad headquarters. Attendees included HRD Corp Terengganu office head Nurain Othman, EPIC group acting chief financial officer Suhana Kamaludin, and EPIC group general manager (Human Resources and Administration) Mohd Sukeri Muhammad.

Dr Muhtar emphasized that the training programmes are not limited to NTW but are offered throughout the year via the EPIC Excellence Learning Centre (EELC), the company's training facility equipped with features like an auditorium and training rooms. Furthermore, as part of EPIC's human capital development agenda, employees are required to undergo training specific to their job category, ensuring continuous talent development across the organization. Executive officers must complete at least 16 hours of training annually, while non-executive employees are required to complete at least eight hours each year.
