EPIC Bhd and HRD Corp Join Forces to Drive National Training Week 2025

Kuala Lumpur: For the first time, Human Resources Development Corporation (HRD Corp), an agency under the Ministry of Human Resources (Kesuma), and Eastern Pacific Industrial Corporation Bhd (EPIC Bhd) have collaborated to make the National Training Week (NTW) 2025 a success at the Terengganu state level. EPIC Bhd chief executive officer Mukhtar Suhaili stated that the company’s involvement in NTW 2025 enhances its potential in empowering a comprehensive and high-impact human capital development agenda.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mukhtar emphasized that NTW is an inclusive, large-scale national initiative designed to foster a culture of lifelong learning throughout the country. “We are very honoured to be given the opportunity to be part of NTW 2025 for the East Coast states because it elevates the potential and role of companies more widely and significantly,” he remarked during the High Impact Training Launch Ceremony at the EPIC Bhd Headquarters, Kemaman Supply Base (KSB).

Themed “Cross-Border Learning,” the initiative aims to intensify upskilling, reskilling, and knowledge empowerment in responding to the new realities of the post-pandemic job market and the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0. The event was attended by Terengganu Infrastructure, Utilities and Rural Development Committee chairman Datuk Hanafiah Mat and HRD Corp regional operations head Muhamad Hafez Kamaruddin.

Mukhtar revealed that in conjunction with NTW, EPIC Bhd has initiated the Human Resources Week 2025 (HR Week 2025), featuring structured content including technical training, soft skills development, career talks, mental and physical wellbeing programs, and dialogues with government agencies. High-impact sharing and training sessions are also being conducted with partners such as Sultan Mizan Zainal Polytechnic (PSMZA), Sultan Zainal Abidin University (UniSZA), Credit Counselling and Management Agency (AKPK), among others.

The training covers topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), personal financial management, ethics and professional image, and self-management. These initiatives aim to equip EPIC employees with up-to-date skills and added value to tackle the challenges of the ever-evolving work environment. “HR Week 2025 is not just to complete the annual training requirements, but also a platform to nurture a culture of continuous learning and instil the values that form the foundation of the organisation among EPIC Bhd employees,” Mukhtar stated.

He further added that EPIC’s involvement in NTW 2025 will bolster the company’s reputation as a progressive and responsible entity in developing work potential. Moreover, it could foster broader cooperation between industry, academia, and government bodies to build a sustainable and resilient human resource ecosystem. EPIC Bhd, related to the Terengganu state government, operates in the oil and gas industry, as well as related services. The Kemaman-based company is also expanding its business in renewable energy, including solar installation and maintenance.
