Kuala lumpur: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has reported a significant increase in voluntary contributions, reaching RM19.2 billion last year. This growth has been largely attributed to the i-Saraan programme, as stated by the fund's chief executive officer, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn highlighted that the number of incentive recipients under the programme rose by 35.9 percent, totaling 720,056 individuals. Concurrently, total contributions through the programme increased by 50.8 percent, amounting to RM4.0 billion.
He further noted that the number of Malaysian formal sector members who contributed above statutory rates via the i-Topup option saw a 26.0 percent increase, reaching 229,901 contributors. Overall, EPF contributions grew by 12.3 percent to RM121.5 billion, a result supported by higher membership numbers, wage growth, and sustained confidence in the EPF system.
