Kuala lumpur: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) membership grew to 18.1 million in 2025, supported by wider workforce participation, including non-Malaysian employees.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, active members increased to 10.6 million, improving the active-to-inactive ratio to 59:41. The growth in EPF membership was driven by a change in the EPF contribution policy for migrant workers, as highlighted by chief executive Ahmad Zulqarnain Onn during the 2025 EPF dividend announcement.
New registrations remained robust, with 2.8 million new members and 89,649 new employers, bringing the number of total active employers to 640,391.
