Kuala lumpur: Edaran Otomobil Nasional (EON) Bhd has set its sights on selling more than 12,000 vehicles this year. Chief executive officer Akkbar Danial shared that the company has already achieved sales of approximately 6,000 units, covering a variety of models within the group.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, EON is the official distributor for Malaysia’s national car, Proton, and also handles the distribution of global brands such as Audi, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen through its subsidiaries. Akkbar highlighted the intensified competition in the Malaysian automotive market, which has seen an increase in the number of car brands available. He emphasized the importance of EON finding a unique edge or differentiation to maintain its relevance and continue being a top choice for customers.

The optimism surrounding EON’s sales target is bolstered by the company’s initiatives and distinctive offerings. Akkbar made these remarks during the launch of the EON and Sahabat Autofest 2025, an event taking place at EON Glenmarie and EON branches nationwide, running until August 10, 2025.

Visitors to the EON and Sahabat Autofest 2025 can experience eight distinct zones featuring a variety of multi-brand vehicles, financial solutions, after-sales services, lifestyle experiences, and family-friendly activities. Last year, the event attracted between 6,000 and 7,000 visitors, and this year, EON is aiming for around 10,000 attendees. The company also anticipates securing 888 bookings or sales during the three-day event.

The launch event also marked a strategic partnership between EON and Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, introducing the Muamalat EON Visa Infinite-i and Muamalat EON Visa Platinum-i co-branded credit cards. Akkbar noted that cardholders will benefit from exclusive cashback on overseas and contactless transactions, along with warm alerts, reward points, and comprehensive Takaful protection.
