Kuala lumpur: Environmental sustainability must be given serious attention to ensure the safety and food security of the country for future generations, said Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. In a Facebook post, he emphasized the importance of collective action among the populace to address the challenges posed by climate change.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad Sabu stressed that climate change is an immediate issue that requires urgent attention rather than a distant concern. He urged Malaysians to take part in preserving the environment through meaningful actions such as reducing waste, maintaining cleanliness, planting trees, and using resources wisely. These actions, he noted, can collectively have a significant impact.
He highlighted the importance of World Environment Day, themed 'Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future', as an opportunity to reflect on environmental responsibilities. He encouraged the public to enhance their environmental awareness and take decisive actions to ensure the earth remains green, sustainable, and prosperous for future generations.
Mohamad concluded his message with a call to unity and action, encapsulating the spirit of global cooperation with the phrase, 'One world. One action. One hope.'
