Enforcement Officer Detained for Alleged RM14,000 Bribe

Kota Bharu: An enforcement officer was detained by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today on suspicion of receiving a RM14,000 bribe from a contractor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the officer was taken into custody at around 1 pm at the state MACC headquarters.

The officer, who previously served in a district in Kelantan, is suspected of receiving cash and various valuable items from a contractor. This information was disclosed by a source within the MACC to BERNAMA News Agency.

Meanwhile, Kelantan MACC director Rosli Husain confirmed the arrest. He stated that the suspect will face charges at the Sessions Court under Section 165 of the Penal Code. The court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow.
