EMGA Secures 100 Million Facility for BTG Pactual’s Sustainable Financing

Kuala Lampur:Emerging Markets Global Advisory LLP (EMGA) has arranged a 100 million debt financing facility for Brazil-based BTG Pactual, aimed at enhancing the bank's sustainable and impact-oriented financing initiatives in Brazil.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the facility was provided by Compa±­a Espa±ola de Financiaci³n del Desarrollo (COFIDES), Spain's development finance institution, giving BTG Pactual an additional source of long-term funding.

Sajeev Chakkalakal, EMGA's Managing Director and Head of Investment Banking, expressed satisfaction at delivering a competitively priced funding solution for BTG Pactual. He highlighted that the facility would bolster BTG Pactual's sustainable finance activities and reinforce its standing in Brazil's environmental, social, and governance sectors.

Jeremy Dobson, EMGA Managing Director and Head of Operations, added that the facility enhances BTG Pactual's long-term funding diversification, strengthening its capacity to support sustainable economic development in Brazil. He noted EMGA's significant investment facilitation in Brazil, amounting to nearly US$2 billion.

Despite global economic uncertainties, Brazil remains a key market for EMGA. Dobson emphasized the ongoing opportunities for mobilizing international capital to support sustainable growth and development in the region.

BTG Pactual, the largest investment bank in Latin America and the sixth-largest bank in Brazil by shareholders' equity, provides a range of financial services. The bank focuses on climate finance and invests in projects with environmental and social impacts.

EMGA, with offices in London and New York, specializes in advising financial institutions and corporates on debt and equity capital solutions. The firm has successfully concluded over US$11 billion in transactions across emerging and frontier markets.
