Eligible Pickup Truck And Jeep Owners Urged To Apply For Extra Diesel Quota

Kuala lumpur: Owners of private diesel vehicles such as pickups and sport utility vehicles (SUVs) who have not yet applied for the additional 100 litres per month of BUDI Diesel eligibility need to do so through the BUDI MADANI portal. The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced that the addition will allow their monthly entitlement to be increased from 300 to 400 litres, starting tomorrow. Eligible owners who have previously received approval for an additional 100 litres do not need to submit a new application.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, "For owners of pickups and SUVs who were previously approved for an additional 100 litres, their eligibility will be automatically adjusted to 400 litres from Sept 1, 2026," said the MOF in a statement today. Applications for the additional eligibility can be made through the porta The MOF stated that more than half a million owners of private diesel vehicles, such as pickups and SUVs, are eligible to apply for the additional benefit.

Meanwhile, the monthly basic eligibility limit for BUDI MADANI will be increased from 200 to 300 litres, starting tomorrow, as announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, during the 2026 National Day 'Amanat Perdana' address. The adjustment will be implemented automatically for recipients of BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) and BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel), subject to their respective eligibility.

A total of 16 million users enjoy RON95 at a subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre, while more than 700,000 of them are also eligible to enjoy subsidised diesel at a price of RM2.10 per litre. The return of the monthly eligibility limit takes into account the increasingly organised supply management, stricter enforcement, the country's strong economic performance, and the government's financial capability, the statement added.
