Eleven Areas in Malaysia Record Unhealthy Air Quality Levels

Kuala Lampur:Eleven areas have reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 4:00 pm today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Department of Environment's Air Pollutant Index Management System indicates that Batu Pahat and Larkin in Johor registered the highest API readings, each at 159. This was followed closely by Pasir Gudang with a reading of 157 and Cheras in Kuala Lumpur at 154.

Other areas experiencing unhealthy air quality include Nilai in Negeri Sembilan and Kluang in Johor, both registering an API of 152, IPD Serian in Sarawak at 150, Putrajaya at 147, Johan Setia in Selangor at 144, Segamat in Johor at 129, and Bukit Rambai in Melaka at 125.

In contrast, 55 areas across the country recorded moderate API levels. API readings ranging from zero to 50 are considered good, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and above 300 hazardous.
