Electricity Distribution Project in Kota Kinabalu Successfully Completed

Kota Kinabalu: A distribution project aimed at strengthening the 33 kV and 11 kV electricity grid in Kota Kinabalu has been completed with the implementation of its final phase. This phase involved the Penampang Main Switch Station (SSU), which became operational at 3:56 pm yesterday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, who also serves as the Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation, announced that the RM22.4 million project marks the second successful completion under the Sabah Electricity Supply Special Project Team (PPKBES) this year.

The project is designed to balance the load at the main electricity station in Kota Kinabalu. It involves the Main Input Substations (PMU) at Penampang and Kepayan, as well as the KKIA Main Distribution Substation (PPU). Fadillah noted that the completion of this project will lead to reduced electricity supply disruptions and a more efficient repair process for the electricity supply around Kota Kinabalu city.

In his Facebook post today, Fadillah expressed appreciation to all parties involved in the successful completion of the project.
