Kuala selangor: An elderly woman sustained first-degree burns after the kitchen in her house was 30 per cent damaged in a fire at Jalan Haji Hashim, Kampung Bukit Belimbing in Kuala Selangor this evening.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated that a distress call was received at 6.30 pm. In response, 10 officers and personnel from the Kuala Selangor Fire and Rescue Station, along with assistance from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, were dispatched to the location.

The operations commander reported that the fire involved a Class A building lot house, with significant damage to the kitchen area. A local woman in her 60s suffered first-degree burn injuries and was transported to the hospital by her family members. The fire was brought under control at 6.48 pm, and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
