Kuala lumpur: An 80-year-old woman was found dead inside a flat unit in Kampung Melayu, Ayer Itam.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Penang Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director John Sagun Francis stated that the department received an emergency call at 3.56 pm regarding a ‘victim’ inside a locked house.

Eight firefighters from the Paya Terubong Fire and Rescue Station, equipped with personal protective equipment, were dispatched to the scene. They had to use special tools to open the door of the flat unit.

Upon entry, the team discovered the woman, who had already died. Her death was subsequently confirmed by medical personnel present at the scene.
