Kuala kangsar: An elderly man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a fallen tree near Kampung Senggang, close to Sungai Perak in Kuala Kangsar, today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Division assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the incident also involved another motorcyclist who crashed into the fallen tree, which was blocking the road.

'The 72-year-old man was confirmed dead at the scene, while the other motorcyclist, a 17-year-old male student, sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital,' he said in a statement.

He said they received a call at 6.58 am, and dispatched a team of personnel from the Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station to the scene.

Sabarodzi added that the elderly man's body was handed over to the police and the operation was fully concluded at 7.46 am.
