Elderly Man Missing While Fishing Found Safe

Seri kembangan: An elderly man who was reported missing while fishing in Taman Lestari Putra, Seri Kembangan, Selangor, yesterday, was found this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar stated that Saharun Hashim, of Taman Lestari Putra, was located at 9.55 am today after being believed to have gotten lost in a forest area near his fishing location.

Mukhtar noted that Saharun was found in good condition and has since been handed over to the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) for further action. The search and rescue (SAR) operation commenced after the department received a report about the missing man at 8.47 pm the previous day.

After receiving the report, a team of eight personnel in two engines from the Seri Kembangan Fire and Rescue Station was dispatched to the scene to conduct the SAR operation. However, the operation was suspended at 10 pm due to darkness and was resumed at 8 am today.

Mukhtar explained that the search operation last night covered a radius of 1.5 kilometres from the location where the victim was feared missing. The operation also involved police personnel, residents, and family members of the victim.
