Kuala lumpur: Efforts to ensure the country's food security are the responsibility of all parties, and not solely the government's, said Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu. He stated that the ministry constantly monitors every development thoroughly so that the country can be prepared in advance, in addition to ensuring the nation's food supply remains stable, sufficient, and easily accessible to the people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad emphasized that everyone has a role to play in strengthening food security. He suggested that those with the space and means should start growing crops, businesses should manage supplies prudently, and consumers should avoid panic buying. He expressed confidence that with continued efforts and cooperation from all parties, the management of the country's food supply could be strengthened, and challenges could be faced calmly.
Mohamad received a briefing earlier today on the latest status of the country's food supply. He noted that current global uncertainties, including the conflict in West Asia and global climate change, have had a direct impact on the food supply chain and the productivity of the country's agricultural sector.
