Education Ministry Mulls SPM Exams Outside Monsoon Season.

PASIR MAS: The Ministry of Education will consider the proposal to schedule the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examinations outside the monsoon season, says Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek. She highlighted the importance of evaluating various aspects, particularly the concerns raised by students during this challenging period.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fadhlina addressed the recent overturning of an Armed Forces truck during an operation to relocate SPM candidates in Rantau Panjang. She clarified that no SPM candidates were involved in the incident. “Yes, I confirm the accident occurred, but it did not involve students. The truck was empty and only carrying military personnel,” she stated.

Despite the incident, the relocation process proceeded without disruptions. Fadhlina expressed her gratitude to the frontliners, particularly the Armed Forces, Fire and Rescue Department, and other enforcement agencies involved in the operation. She made these remarks during a press conference following a briefi
ng on the SPM situation in flood-affected areas at the Pasir Mas District Education Office.

The incident involved a seven-tonne Malaysian Armed Forces truck skidding during Op Murni. However, it did not impact SPM candidates affected by the floods in Rantau Panjang. The Malaysian Second Infantry Division Headquarters confirmed in a statement that the vehicle had been successfully retrieved and was back in operation.
