EcoSys Makes Strong Debut on Bursa Malaysia’s ACE Market

Penang:EcoSys (Malaysia) Bhd launched onto the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia today with a robust opening, trading at 70 sen, which is a substantial 159% increase, or 43 sen above its initial public offering (IPO) price of 27 sen per share. At the start of trading, 33.22 million shares were exchanged.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Managing Director Chan Chee Wei highlighted that the listing presents an opportunity for EcoSys to enhance its growth plans and underscores the need for strong corporate governance to deliver shareholder value. Chan emphasized that the company's value to shareholders and investors is more significant than its pricing.

EcoSys, headquartered in Penang, specializes in precision engineering components and services for the semiconductor industry, including research and development, customisation, assembly, installation, and maintenance. The company is focusing on developing innovative solutions in gas treatment and plans to expand its ultra-high-purity (UHP) segment and gas-abatement operations to meet future market demands.

The expansion plans include nearly doubling the size of its cleanroom, anticipated to be completed by the end of the year. This strategic move aims to align with the growth of existing customers and attract new clients.

The successful debut of EcoSys shares follows high demand during its IPO, with the public tranche being oversubscribed over 200 times and investor allocations fully subscribed. The IPO raised RM39.34 million, earmarked for expansion and operational activities.

M and A Securities Sdn Bhd played a pivotal role as the principal adviser, sponsor, underwriter, and placement agent for the IPO, with Eco Asia Capital Advisory Sdn Bhd serving as the financial adviser.
