Johor bahru: EcoCeres Renewable Fuels, a global producer of sustainable and low-carbon fuels located in Johor, is set to enhance the state's role in the global supply chain for future fuels. Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi has announced that the company has successfully entered its operational phase and has commenced shipping sustainable fuels to international markets.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Onn Hafiz highlighted the significance of EcoCeres' presence in Johor, noting it as a testament to international investors' confidence in the state's capabilities as a green industry and energy transition hub within Southeast Asia. He emphasized Johor's ongoing commitment to positioning itself as a preferred investment destination and a regional hub for high-value technology and industries.
The Menteri Besar revealed that EcoCeres, which also focuses on the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), has created over 300 high-quality job opportunities, with 185 positions already filled by local residents. These jobs offer competitive salaries ranging from approximately RM3,000 to RM15,000, reflecting the expertise, technical skills, and advanced operational technologies required.
Additionally, Onn Hafiz mentioned that EcoCeres, located in Tanjung Langsat, is contributing to Johor's education development through strategic partnerships and contributions to the Welfare and Education Fund of the Johor Education Foundation (YPJ). This initiative is aimed at supporting skills development and continuous training to cultivate a more competitive and highly skilled local workforce.
