Eco World’s First Quarter Net Profit Surges to RM156.41 Million on Strong Sales

Kuala lumpur: Property developer Eco World Development Group Bhd (Eco World) reported a significant increase in net profit, reaching RM156.41 million for the first quarter ending January 31, 2026 (1Q FY2026), compared to RM80.34 million in the same period last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the revenue for the quarter surged by 150.8 percent to RM1.35 billion from the previous RM539.63 million. This increase was primarily driven by the completion of industrial land sales. Notably, the group finalized the sale of 56.06 hectares of industrial land within Eco Business Park I in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor, and 23.55 hectares at Eco Business Park V in Selangor. Other contributing projects included developments like Eco Botanic, Eco Botanic 2, Eco Spring, Eco Tropics, Eco Business Park I, Eco Business Park III, and Eco Business Park VI in the Southern Region, as well as Eco Majestic, Eco Forest, Eco Sanctuary, and Paragon Pinnacle in the Central Region.

Eco World president and CEO Datuk Chang Khim Wah highlighted that the strong sales performance underscores the extensive market reach achieved by the group's diverse revenue streams. The growth in sales has allowed Eco World to cater comprehensively to buyers across various market segments. Chang emphasized that this competitive advantage stems from years of value creation, community building, and strategic placemaking that align with the specific lifestyle needs and aspirations of their customer base.

Looking ahead, Chang expressed optimism about Eco World's prospects and the fundamental demand for its projects and products. However, he acknowledged potential uncertainties due to global issues such as the ongoing West Asia crisis and unresolved tariff wars. In response, Eco World plans to maintain a prudent approach to future investments, continue cost-saving measures, and uphold stringent financial discipline in its operations.

Additionally, Eco World announced a higher first interim dividend of 2.0 sen per share for the financial year ending October 31, 2026, which will be payable on April 13, 2026.
