Eco World Foundation Enhances Dialysis Care With RM86,000 Donation

Kuala lumpur: Eco World Foundation today handed over two new haemodialysis machines worth RM86,000 to the Ampang Kau Ong Yah Foundation Dialysis Centre, replacing ageing units and improving care for underprivileged kidney patients.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Eco World Foundation’s chairman, Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, stated that the initiative reflects the Foundation’s belief that corporate responsibility extends beyond education and community support to include healthcare and overall well-being. He emphasized that healthcare is a basic need, and the Foundation aims to ease the burden on the centre and improve the quality of care for patients reliant on dialysis.

Lee mentioned that this initiative is part of the Eco World Cares programme, which focuses on uplifting communities through education, welfare, and healthcare support. The donation follows a previous contribution in Rawang, where the Foundation provided a haemodialysis machine worth RM52,000 to the St John Ambulance Malaysia-Kawasan Pantai Selangor Foundation to replace an older unit at their Rawang Dialysis Centre.

Ampang Kau Ong Yah Foundation Treasurer, Tony Yap Yoong Kim, expressed that the collaboration showcases how corporate foundations and community organisations can address critical healthcare needs. He highlighted that each additional machine allows more patients to access timely treatment and live with dignity.

Founded in 2003, the Ampang Kau Ong Yah Haemodialysis Centre provides subsidised dialysis to 73 patients, operating six days a week across two shifts. It stands as one of Selangor’s pioneer non-profit dialysis centres.
